About this product
A 6 litre cool mist humidifier that reads the room and adjusts itself.
Ultrasonic, whisper quiet, with a humidity sensor, an auto mode, a night light, and app and voice control.
A humidifier adds moisture to the air in a room. This one is an ultrasonic cool mist unit with a 6 litre tank, sized by the manufacturer for spaces up to 47 square metres.
It has a built in humidity sensor and an auto mode that adjusts the mist to hold the level you set, a touch LED display, a sleep mode with a night light, and control from the VeSync app or by voice through Alexa and Google Home.
We describe what it does and what is in the box. We make no claim about what a change in humidity does for your health, because we cannot evidence one.
Dry indoor air is a winter problem in most New Zealand homes: heat pumps and heaters warm the air without adding any moisture to it, and the relative humidity in a closed room falls. A humidifier puts moisture back. This one is the ultrasonic type, which vibrates water into a fine cool mist rather than boiling it, so it runs quietly and the outlet stays cool.
The tank holds 6 litres, which is the practical difference between this and a small desk unit: it runs through a night and well into the next day between fills. The manufacturer rates it for rooms up to 47 square metres and quotes a mist height of at least 60 cm; both are their figures and we repeat them as such.
The part worth having is the sensor. It reads the humidity in the room and, in auto mode, raises or lowers the mist to hold the level you set, so the unit does not simply run flat out until the windows stream. You can also set it manually from the touch LED display, and switch the display off at night.
Sleep mode drops it to its quietest setting with a soft night light. For control from elsewhere in the house, or from work before you get home, it connects to the free VeSync app, and it answers Alexa and Google Home if you have either.
In the box are the humidifier, a cleaning brush, three aroma pads with one already fitted, the user manual and a quick start guide. Cleaning matters more with a humidifier than with most appliances: standing water in the base is what goes wrong with them, so empty and rinse at each refill and give the base a scrub with the brush every week or so.
What we do not say: the listing this came from promised relief from congestion, coughing and dry throats, easier breathing and better sleep. Those are claims about your body, we cannot evidence them, and they are not on this page. What a humidifier does is raise the humidity of a room. What that does for you is your call.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. Under our own policy you have 15 days from purchase on any unused item in its original packaging; you pay the return postage and a $29 packing and handling fee is deducted. New Zealand law gives no statutory cooling-off period for an online purchase, so that window is ours rather than a legal right.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund. We pay the return postage and nothing on this page limits any of it. Read the detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
It adds moisture to the air in a room, which raises the relative humidity. That is the whole job.
What type is this one?
Ultrasonic cool mist. It vibrates water into a fine mist rather than boiling it, so it runs quietly and the mist is cool.
How big is the tank?
6 litres, so it runs through a night and into the next day between fills.
What size room is it for?
The manufacturer rates it for rooms up to 47 square metres. That is their figure and we quote it as such.
Does it control the humidity automatically?
Yes. A built in sensor reads the room and the auto mode raises or lowers the mist to hold the level you set.
What humidity level should I set?
Most guidance for comfort sits somewhere between 40 and 60 percent relative humidity. Below that rooms feel dry; above it windows and cold walls start to run with condensation. Start in the middle and adjust.
Is it quiet enough for a bedroom?
It is an ultrasonic unit with a sleep mode, so it is about as quiet as a humidifier gets. The display can be switched off too.
Does it have a night light?
Yes, a soft one, as part of the sleep mode.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes, through the free VeSync app, from anywhere with a connection.
Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?
Yes, both.
How do I fill it?
Lift the tank off the base and fill it. Check the manual for whether your unit fills from the top or the underside, since designs differ.
What water should I use?
Fresh tap water each fill is fine in most of New Zealand. In a hard water area you may see a fine white dust settle nearby; distilled or demineralised water avoids that.
How often should I clean it?
Empty and rinse the tank at each refill, and scrub the base with the supplied brush about weekly. Standing water in the base is what goes wrong with humidifiers, so this is the maintenance that matters.
Can I use essential oils in it?
It ships with three aroma pads, one fitted, which is where a few drops go. Do not put oils in the water tank itself.
What is in the box?
The humidifier, a cleaning brush, three aroma pads with one pre-installed, the user manual and a quick start guide.
How heavy is it?
2 kg empty. Add the weight of the water when the tank is full.
What are the dimensions?
24.5 x 19.2 x 34 cm.
Will it help my dry skin or my cough?
We make no claim of that kind. It raises the humidity of a room. What that does for you is not something we can evidence, so it is not on this page.
Will it help with asthma or allergies?
We make no health claim for this product. If you have a respiratory condition, that is a conversation with a doctor rather than a shop.
Will it help me sleep?
The listing this came from said so. We have removed that claim and make no sleep claim.
Can it make a room too humid?
Any humidifier can if it runs flat out. Use the auto mode with a sensible target so it stops when the room gets there, and watch for condensation on windows.
Does it get the floor wet?
Ultrasonic mist can settle if it is aimed at a wall or the unit sits on the floor. Put it on a raised surface with the mist pointing into the open room.
Is it safe to leave running overnight?
It is designed for it, and the sleep mode exists for exactly that. Keep it on a stable surface where it cannot be knocked over.
Does it warm the air?
No. It is a cool mist unit. The mist is at room temperature or slightly below.
How much power does it use?
The manufacturer publishes no wattage figure in the material we have, so we do not quote one. Ultrasonic units are generally low draw compared with warm mist types.
Where does this item ship from?
It is a dropship line shipped from a different source to our stocked products, so delivery timing can differ slightly. Ask us if timing matters.
Does it come with a warranty?
Your Consumer Guarantees Act rights apply: if it is faulty, we put it right. We do not describe a separate manufacturer's warranty because we cannot confirm its terms.
How long does delivery take?
New Zealand wide delivery takes 5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. It is free on orders over $50; below that the only option is Express Delivery at $22, which you can also choose on any order as a paid upgrade.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Yes, under our own returns policy: within 15 days of purchase on an unused item in its original packaging. New Zealand law gives no statutory cooling-off period for an online purchase, so that window is the shop's own. Your Consumer Guarantees Act rights if something is faulty are separate and unaffected. See the refunds and returns page.
Do you sell these in quantity?
Yes. Use the wholesale quote page with the number you need.
The complete guide
Getting a humidifier to do a useful job rather than a wet one
3 min readCO2 Company New Zealand
Why rooms dry out
Heating warms the air without adding any water to it, and warm air can hold far more
moisture than cold air. So the same amount of water vapour that felt fine in a cool room
reads as dry once the heat pump has been on for an evening. That is the winter pattern in
most New Zealand houses, and it is what a humidifier corrects.
Use the sensor, not the maximum setting
A humidifier that runs flat out does not know when to stop. The point of a built in sensor
and an auto mode is that you set a target and the machine holds it. Something between 40 and
60 percent is where most people are comfortable. Above that, the first sign is condensation on
cold windows in the morning, and that is your signal to turn the target down.
Where to put it
On a raised surface, in the open, with the mist pointing into the room rather than at a wall,
a curtain or a piece of furniture. Mist that hits a surface settles on it. Keep it away from
electronics for the same reason.
Cleaning is the whole ownership cost
The failure mode of every humidifier is the same: water stands in the base, and standing water
grows things. Empty and rinse at each refill, scrub the base with the brush weekly, and use
fresh water. In a hard water area the fine white dust you may notice nearby is mineral from the
water, and distilled or demineralised water avoids it.
What this page does not claim
The listing this came from promised easier breathing, better sleep and relief from coughs and
dry skin. We have left all of that out. This machine raises the humidity of a room, and it does
that well. What a change in humidity does for you is not something we can evidence.
Tell us the room, how many people use it and what you are trying to find out, and we will tell you whether this is the one that fits. Free delivery across New Zealand on orders over $50.
